HitBuddy pulls daily box score data from the DataStreak MLB API after games complete. We track every active MLB batter and calculate their current consecutive-game hit streak, longest streak, and game-by-game batting stats.

Our algorithm scores batters using five factors: current streak length (30% weight), recent batting average (20%), season average (15%), consistency rate (10%), and batter-vs-pitcher matchup history (25%). The highest-scoring players become the daily single pick and parlay recommendations.

NRFI stands for No Runs First Inning. It is a bet that neither team will score in the first inning of an MLB game. Success rates typically range from 55-65% depending on the starting pitchers. HitBuddy analyzes pitcher ERA, first-inning stats, and team scoring tendencies to grade NRFI opportunities.

BvP shows how a specific batter has historically performed against a specific pitcher. HitBuddy uses real play-by-play at-bat data from MLB Stats API. A .300+ BvP average (green) indicates a favorable matchup, .250-.300 (gold) is neutral, and below .250 (red) is unfavorable.

Game stats are updated daily after all MLB games complete, typically by 2 AM ET. Today's probable pitchers and matchup data refresh each morning. Hit streaks update in real-time as game results finalize.

The hit streak leaderboard, player pages, and matchup analysis are free and public. Daily picks, NRFI analysis, and the pick competition game require a free account.
